A Voyage to the Far Side of the World

'FlagShip 2030' is a 2-year scientific sail expedition around the world - under the BBNJ High Seas Treaty - to help accelerate the creation of new MPAs in the High Seas to achieve 30% protection of the oceans by 2030.

How?

By visiting countries that have ratified the High Seas Treaty, the green countries, and by organizing mini-conferences in their ports to draft proposals for new MPAs.

By visiting established MPAs along the route, making documentaries and short films about the splendor of the biodiversity in those MPAs & showing that to the public.

By acting as a project of unity between the UN, participating countries, local communities, the public and all parties who support the goal of protecting 30% of the ocean by 2030.
